What We Offer
Caffeine isn’t just in our name. We talk about coffee all day long, go home and have a cup, and then have dreams about coffee at night. In all of the content we create on 2Caffeinated, we just want to help you. On our site, you’ll find reviews, guides, and tutorials to help you discover your favorite coffee and coffee gear.
How This Works
As we’ve talked about before, our team on 2Caffeinated is comprised of people who are obsessed with coffee. And because we love coffee so much, we go through a careful process to ensure we treat every review the same way. Why? We want to make sure we’re fair with every product we test out. Our team brings their expertise to ensure all of the recommendations we make are worth your time and your money. We’ll put together a complete list of recommendations for you to help you decide what the best options are for you.
- We look through all of the latest releases, new beans, and anything that’s unique to find items to test out. After we find a product to try out, we order it off of the company’s website and wait for it to arrive at our front door.
- After the package has arrived, we’ll grab videos and pictures of every part of the unboxing process. We don’t want to hide anything from you; if there’s something wrong with the box or the product, you’ll see what we’re seeing too. You’ll know why we have complaints (or praises) about a company and the product we’ve bought from them.
- If anyone in our coffee community has any questions, we make sure to answer those questions as they come up!

You’re also in the right place if you’re interested in making the perfect cup of Joe and knowing where your coffee comes from.
Unlike other coffee sites, we aren’t affiliated with any company or brand. This means it’s our choice of bean, roast, and coffee maker you’re getting, not someone else’s. We don’t believe in bias here on 2Caffeinated – does bias get you the perfect java every morning? No. And that’s all we care about here – getting you the perfect cup of coffee for whenever you want it.
You won’t get puffed-up reviews here. All of the information you read on 2Caffeinated comes from our personal experiences and our team of experts. But, we don’t just rely on our experts for advice. Our team is made up of coffee lovers, just like you. They love coffee, they’re ethical, honest about what they write, and they don’t pretend to know everything.
Here, at 2Caffeinated, we take our product recommendations really seriously. We won’t recommend a single machine, be it a drip coffee maker, espresso machine, or a grinder without researching it thoroughly first. Our mission is to tell you the truth about coffee equipment, beans, milk, and whatever other coffee-related topics we’re commenting on.
You can visit our site and find everything you’d ever want to know about what makes the perfect cup of Joe. Hopefully, you’ll pick up some new tips and tricks while you’re here!
We’ve reviewed espresso machines, including the automatic espresso maker, and explored which coffee pod machine comes out on top. If you’re more of a manual coffee making fan, then take a look at our honest thoughts about that.
If, before now, you’ve only drunk coffee because you need a caffeine hit, we’re here to tell you there’s way more to know and love! Here at 2Caffeinated, we believe that coffee is (and should be) more than just a cup of instant grains in the morning.
Our Editorial Review Policy: How we Handle Product or Service Reviews
We take product recommendations very seriously around here. Before we recommend an alternative coffee, an espresso machine, drip coffee maker, anything — we do extensive research. That starts with researching the history and public reviews of each product or service, including accessing the right scientific studies, consulting experts in the space (coffee farmers, professional baristas, and coffee industry experts), and reading real people reviews and use cases of each product.
As much as possible, our writers and editorial team use and test each product in their real lives. We not only evaluate and discuss the benefits of each product, but we can then talk about the durability, performance and personal nuance, things you might not find in other reviews, but that really matters to our audience.
Every article goes through an extensive editorial process as well to ensure high-quality, relevant content for our audience. We make sure that each article has a clear purpose, gives a clear and tested recommendation, or call to action and is helpful for our audience. We make sure to cite outside sources and document where we got our research from.
Every article is unique, authentic, original content that is not published anywhere else. If we quote or source someone else, we cite it. We also only cite reputable, trusted sources.
If we are making a recommendation of any kind, it’s because we like, use, and have tested the product or service out and would recommend it to our friends and family (and often do!).
We update key articles continuously so we are always recommending the latest products and keeping abreast of the latest health breakthroughs and research available. We also take product recalls very seriously and strive to make sure we are recommending products that are proven, effective and safe.

Why am I giving advice on 2Caffeinated?
I’m giving advice on 2Caffeinated because I realized there was a gap between coffee lovers and good coffee advice. I had a lot of my friends reaching out to me, always asking how I made coffee that was so delicious. When I discovered there wasn’t a lot of advice out there for people who were tired of overpaying for good coffee, I wanted to help!
What’s the very first memory you have involving coffee?
My first memory involving coffee was when my mom gave me coffee in my sippy cup. It’s. a Latin American thing. Coffee is very much part of our culture in Costa Rica.
What’s your favorite type of coffee?
My favorite coffee is from a Costa Rican company called DOTA. I drink my coffee black. Medium roast Arabica coffee beans!
What brewing machine do you currently have in your kitchen?
I have quite a few different brewing methods. Right now I’ve been using the French press more, but I also have an Aeropress and an espresso machine. I like a big, strong cup of coffee which is why the French Press is currently my favorite.
What’s one secret you have for making for the perfect cup of coffee?
My secret for making the perfect cup of coffee in making sure you store your beans properly! Once you buy yourself fresh beans, make sure that you stop them in an air-tight container. You don’t want to take any chances of your beans going rancid!

Why am I giving advice on 2Caffeinated?
I love all things coffee. I’ll admit that I’ve spent a little too much on my at-home station for brewing coffee; I’ve got five different machines, too many jars of beans, and 20 different flavors of syrup. I could It’s a real passion of mine, which I love sharing with other like-minded coffee loves.

Crystal Schwanke – Homebrew Authority
Crystal doesn’t collect coffee cups like most people; she collects coffee beans! After she started drinking coffee when she was a little girl, she’s always craving the perfect cup. She loves learning about the culture and history behind every bean that’s brewed. She doesn’t travel the world just to see different landscapes; she travels the world to try new beans. She loves connecting people to new cultures through coffee and she’s excited to introduce you to your new favorite brew!
Why am I giving advice on 2Caffeinated?
I’m obsessed with coffee and coffee-making. If I discover a new coffee shop near me, I’m there. Even better if they roast their own beans (and I’m buying a bag)! If we take a family trip, one of the first things I do is scope out all the coffee shops in the area and come up with a plan (one each morning and one each afternoon we’re in the area). I’ve been learning about different coffees and how where they’re grown can affect how they taste for about 15 years. I order beans from roasters all over the country, sourced from around the world, so I can try as much as possible.
What’s the very first memory you have involving coffee?
I was interested in drinking coffee around age four or give and my grandma didn’t think I should have very much at all (she’d put a little in a cup of milk sometimes). So, she told me coffee could make me ugly (lol). Beyond that, one of my first “real” memories of drinking coffee would happen when I was a teenager. My parents ordered coffee from somewhere far away (I’m not sure how they heard about it or where it was) because there were no coffee shops near us. We made a pot of this mind-blowingly delicious coffee at night and my whole family drank it while watching a movie (even my little sister). We were up way too late, but I remember feeling so warm and cozy. I think that’s what sparked my interest in seeing what else is out there in the coffee world.
What’s your favorite type of coffee?
Ethiopia Yirgacheffe from Rev Coffee Roasters in Smyrna, GA. And Leticia Lopez Honey Process from Alma Coffee (in Canton, GA).
What brewing machine do you currently have in your kitchen?
My favorite is the Chemex. I also have a French press that I use less often (cleaning it takes more work). For morning coffee through the week, I have a Cafe Smart Drip 10-Cup Coffee Maerker that I set up the night before (I’m one of those “I need coffee to make coffee” people). Then there’s the Nespresso VertuoPlus for quick lattes. There’s also a Toddy for cold brew, but that doesn’t get the love it deserves.
What’s one secret you have for making the perfect cup of coffee?
If you can get beans that were roasted within the past week, buy those. Then use a pour-over method to make yourself a cup or full pot. You’ll experience the most tasting notes that way.

Erin Jaimeson – Caffine Critic
Erin knows there are different levels to unlock with coffee. With just one type of beans, there’s so much you can do to make a unique drink by just preparing your coffee a little differently. While she’s a big fan of adding in a little milk and cream to your morning cup, she wants to help people break away from the dessert-style coffees and enjoy the raw beauty that a black cup of coffee has to offer.
Why am I giving advice on 2Caffeinated?
Coffee is more than a drink. It’s an entire culture and a way to connect and treat yourself. I want to share my experiences and knowledge so you can enjoy coffee to its fullest potential, just like I do.
What’s the very first memory you have involving coffee?
When I was quite young, my father used to get a cup of free coffee before church services. I snuck some cups of my own, and enjoyed trying sips of different coffee types. I also loved trying different coffee creamers.
What’s your favorite type of coffee?
I love smooth, rich dark roasts, especially with crema, like what my Nespresso offers. I tend to gravitate to smooth over smoky and enjoy Columbian and Ethiopian roasts. I have great respect for Fair Trade coffee and hope I can purchase more of it in the future.
What brewing machine do you currently have in your kitchen?
I have a single service Keurig machine, as well as a Vertuo Nespresso machine.
What’s one secret you have for making the perfect cup of coffee?
This isn’t a secret, but just a small tip: make sure your coffee is as fresh as possible. The ideal, of course, is to buy whole beans and grind them yourself. It really can make a big difference.
